Ecolife Event: Games, Market, Hazwaste Recyling

Spend the weekend of September 25-26 learning how to live a healthier, greener life. The Ecolife Event at Atlantic station offers games and green demonstrations for all ages, as well as a green market with locally grown food, candles, clothing and other specialty items.

Additionally, on September 25, from 10 am to 2 pm, Ecolife is teaming up with District 1 Councilperson Carla Smith and the Department of Watershed Management to host a hazardous and electronic waste recycling center. Bring those hazardous materials that have been sitting in your basement for years, old electronics and unused prescription medications for proper disposal. Remember, flushing prescription medications down the toilet means that, eventually, they can make their way into our streams and creeks.

The event also features a truckload sale of compost bins and rain barrels, at greatly reduced prices. For more information, go to www.ecolife-events.com/event or contact Councilperson Smith's office at 404-330-6039.
