Clear Creek Combined Sewer Capacity Relief Project
(Historic Fourth Ward Park/Beltline)
The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM), in conjunction with Atlanta Beltline, Inc (ABI), will construct a stormwater detention pond in the Historic Fourth Ward Park which will serve as a functional amenity for the surrounding community. The City is undertaking the Clear Creek Combined Sewer Capacity Relief Project as part of a Federal Consent Decree.

DWM Offers Rain Barrel Options
Rain barrels can be an excellent source of
supplemental water for gardens, lawns, and
other outdoor watering needs. Rain barrels
can be purchased at hardware stores and other
businesses that cater to outdoor activities such
as gardening and landscaping. Individuals can
also build their own rain barrels.

Non-drought Outdoor Water Use Schedule
The entire state of Georgia is now under a
non-drought schedule for outdoor water use.
Outdoor water use is now allowed three days a
week on assigned days based on address.

City Fights FOG
(Fats, Oils and Grease)
in Pipes
Keeping FOG out of the City’s sanitary sewer pipes is a major function of DWM’s Bureau of
Watershed Protection. If not properly removed, grease can build up in pipes, causing clogs and
sewer backups.

Rates Increase 12.5 Percent as of July 1
Under a four-year rate package passed by the Atlanta City Council last year, the City of Atlanta’s water/sewer rates will increase by 12.5 percent effective July 1. This will mean a $13.28 increase per month (to $120.82) for the average (8 ccf) customer.
