Custer Ave CSO

The Custer Avenue CSO Facility is located at 780 Custer Avenue, SE in a residential area and is buffered by Intrenchment Creek and a Georgia Power utility easement. Constructed in the mid-1980s, the Custer Avenue CSO Facility serves an east area combined sewershed of approximately 3,874 acres and has a maximum overflow capacity of 3,050 mgd. The Custer Avenue CSO Facility receives wet weather flow from the Boulevard and Confederate CSO
Regulators. Flow entering the facility receives coarse screening and fine screening. The screened flow is routed to the 34-mg Intrenchment Creek CSO Tunnel, which terminates at the Intrenchment CSO Treatment Plant (CSOTP). When the tunnel storage capacity is reached, excess flow is diverted to Intrenchment Creek.
