Kiosks Offer New Payment Options for Water Customers
New water and sewer payment kiosks provide more options for City of Atlanta
residents when paying their monthly bills.
Last week, the City Department of Watershed Management (DWM) unveiled two
payment kiosks – in the City Hall Atrium (55 Trinity Ave.) and the North
Fulton Government Annex (7741 Roswell Road). The kiosks, which provide a
touch-screen format, offer instructions in both English and Spanish.
The City Hall kiosk is available 24 hours per day/7 days per week
and provides “real-time” results for customers. For example, after
a payment is made, customer accounts will be automatically adjusted
to reflect the new balance. Customers can view the new balance immediately
by using prompts on the kiosk.
Customers do not need to have their water bills or their account numbers
with them to use the kiosks. Instead, they can type in personal information
and the system will pull up an electronic copy of the bill. The kiosk accepts
credit cards, debit cards and checks. The kiosks cannot accept partial payments
or cash or give back change.
In addition to the kiosks, customers still have the option of paying their
bills at the DWM satellite offices, online and by mail. “We’re basically
offering our customers an around-the-clock cashier,” said DWM Commissioner
Rob Hunter. “We want to make doing business with the City an easy and efficient
experience.”
