City of Atlanta remains in a Level 4 Drought
April 6, 2009 — Despite recent rains, the City of Atlanta remains in a Level 4 drought until further notice. The Departments of Watershed Management and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs remind residents and businesses to adhere to the current watering restrictions available at www.atlantawatershed.org/drought. Lake Lanier remains nine feet below its 1,071-foot full pool. As the upcoming festival season approaches in April, the arrangements between city officials and Class A festival organizers regarding the drought and park usage (reservations) finalized in January 2009 remain in effect until further notice. ####The Department of Watershed Management provides drinking water and wastewater collection and treatment services to more than 1 million people over a 650-square-mile area.Press releases |
