City of Atlanta remains in a Level 4 Drought
April 6, 2009 — Despite recent rains, the City of Atlanta remains in a Level 4 drought until further notice. The Departments of Watershed Management and Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs remind residents and businesses to adhere to the current watering restrictions available at www.atlantawatershed.org/drought. Lake Lanier remains nine feet below its 1,071-foot full pool.
As the upcoming festival season approaches in April, the arrangements between city officials and Class A festival organizers regarding the drought and park usage (reservations) finalized in January 2009 remain in effect until further notice.
The Department of Watershed Management provides drinking water and wastewater collection and treatment services to more than 1 million people over a 650-square-mile area.
