Water/Sewer Rate Increase

The final increase under the four-year rate package approved by the City Council in 2008 became effective July 1, 2011.

The 12 percent increase means that rates are now:

Tier 1 (0-3 CCF) Rates Per CCF

Water - $2.58

Sewer - $9.74

Tier 2 (4-6 CCF) Rates Per CCF

Water - $5.34

Sewer - $13.64

Tier 3 (7 CCF and higher) Rates Per CCF

Water - $6.16

Sewer - $15.69

A base charge of $13.12 ($6.56 for water and $6.56 for sewer) applies to all bills regardless of usage.

These rate increases have allowed the City of Atlanta to remain in compliance with the federally mandated Consent Decree work to overhaul our aging and leaking sewer infrastructure and reduce pollution in the Chattahoochee River.
