City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management Confirms No Evidence of Contamination
 

ATLANTA – The Environmental Protection Division has been notified that all samples from City of Atlanta Water Distribution system showed no detection of contamination or arsenic.

The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM) was contacted by the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Atlanta and advised of a water quality issue related to elevated levels of arsenic for some water quality samples they independently took in November and December 2018.

On Monday, February 4, 2019 DWM notified the Environmental Protection Division and initiated sampling of the distribution system and the test results confirmed that there are no traces of arsenic. DWM is continuing to assist the Federal Bureau of Prisons to determine the cause of this facility-related issue.
