Water Supply Program Work to Impact Howell Mill Road, Huff Road Intersection

What: Electrical work near the Hemphill Water Treatment Plant (WTP), resulting in temporary lane closure

Where: Intersection of Howell Mill Road NW and Huff Road NW

When: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Tuesday, Sept. 19 – Wednesday, Oct. 11

Comments:

Contractors will perform electrical work at the intersection of Howell Mill Road NW and Huff Road NW, resulting in a temporary lane closure. Traffic control measures will be in place to guide motorists around the work zone. Motorists are urged to use caution and to avoid the area if possible. No work will take place during the weekends.

This work is in conjunction with the Water Supply Program, which will increase the City’s water reserve to more than 30 days. The project consists of construction of a five-mile conveyance tunnel that will connect the Chattahoochee River, Hemphill WTP and new 2.4 billion gallon reservoir at the former Bellwood Quarry.
