Boil Water Advisory Still in Effect for Cities of South Fulton, Union City and Fairburn and a
Portion of Southwest Atlanta at Cascade Road SW

Atlanta – Following a temporary loss of pressure last evening, a Boil Water Advisory was issued out of an abundance of caution for residents and property owners in the City of South Fulton, Union City and the City of Fairburn as well as a portion of southwest Atlanta along Cascade Road SW and Benjamin E Mays Dr. SW between Avon Avenue SW and Fairburn Rd SW.  Water pumping was restored by 8:30 pm and teams’ sampling of the impacted areas was completed overnight. The first set of lab results are expected late this evening.

While the system has returned to normal operations, those in the impacted area should continue to boil their water or use bottled water until the boil water advisory is lifted. If you experienced a low water pressure or a loss of water at your address, but your address is not within the area described, the City recommends you follow the precautionary measures.

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division will advise the Department of Watershed Management when the advisory can be lifted. Residents and businesses in the City of South Fulton, Union City and the City of Fairburn as well as a portion of southwest Atlanta along Cascade Road SW and Benjamin E Mays Dr. SW between Avon Avenue SW and Fairburn Rd SW should continue to boil their water or use bottled water until the boil water advisory is lifted.

Official updates will be provided to public safety officials and posted on  www.atlantaga.gov  and on the City of Atlanta Department of Watershed  Management website as they occur.
