Crews Complete Repairs to Water Line Damaged By Private Contractor at Moury Avenue & Jonesboro Road
ATLANTA — Crews have completed repairs to the 24-inch water main that was damaged by a private contractor at the intersection of Moury Avenue & Jonesboro Road. Water service is slowly being restored to 70 homes, five businesses, and two hydrants.
After a water main break repair, you may notice air in the line or discolored water from your tap. To alleviate this problem, flush the cold water lines by opening the faucet on the lowest floor in your home or business.
- Run the cold water taps for about five minutes or until the water runs clear.
- Open the other faucets one at a time, moving from the lowest floor to the highest.
- Additionally, remember to flush your refrigerator’s water lines as well.
After following these steps, you should notice the water running clear within five minutes. Don’t forget to turn off your faucets in the same order, from the lowest to the highest.
This method effectively ensures that the water in your home or business returns to its normal state. For more information, download our Recovering From A Water Main fact sheet at bit.ly/RecoverFromAWaterMainBreak.
